King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS)
is the first university specialized in health sciences in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and at the regional level. The university is administratively affiliated with the Ministry of National Guard and organizationally with the Ministry of Education.
Several of its academic programs originated from advanced training programs in various medical fields offered by the Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, which proved to be an important foundation for the successful launch of the university.
Due to the positive response to these programs, which reflected on the quality of healthcare provided in various medical and health specialties, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz – may he rest in peace – issued a royal decree to establish the university on March 6, 2005.
King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences has been accredited by the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for various programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

New students start in the preparatory year at the College of Science and Health Professions. After that, students join one of the bachelor's degree programs at the College of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Public Health, Nursing, or Applied Medical Sciences in Riyadh, Jeddah, and Al-Ahsa.
The university also offers master's programs in medical education at the College of Medicine, and in health informatics, systems management and quality, epidemiology and biostatistics, public health, and bioethics at the College of Public Health and Health Informatics, in addition to Saudi Board and fellowship programs.
Academic study at the university is linked to the training programs at King Abdulaziz Medical City, Ministry of National Guard Health Affairs, where students have the opportunity for clinical training under the supervision of senior consultants and specialists in various diagnostic and therapeutic departments.

KSAU-HS has undergone a dramatic transformation over a short period. It has changed from a predominantly teaching institution to a research-intensive university and adopted governance and management systems based on performance and best international practices. The University has set its sights on becoming a distinguished global university.
King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC-Riyadh) initially began as a provider of high-quality health services, and gradually branched into a pioneering academic institute through the following:

Organization and management of local and international scientific conferences, and advanced training programs.

KSAU-HS follows the rules and regulations of the Higher Education Council and the University Council, which is chaired by the Minister of Higher Education.

The University has two branches, one in Jeddah in the Western Region and one in Al Ahsa in the Eastern Region.
KSAU-HS and NGHA provide optimal health care for eligible patients and their dependents. KSAU-HS provides academic opportunities, conducts research, and participates in industry and community service programs in the health field.
It will also provide educational health programs in an academic setting that fosters excellence in innovative learning, scientific research, compassionate patient care, and community health promotion that will enhance healthcare development nationally and globally.
