Assistant Professor
Dr. Hassan Aljohani is a distinguished Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy and an esteemed leader in quality assurance and academic accreditation at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU-HS). A proud alumnus of KSAU-HS, Dr. Aljohani furthered his education with a Master of Science in Health Science from Georgia State University and a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Alabama, solidifying his expertise in patient recovery.

Dr. Aljohani's credentials include dual American Board certifications as a Registered Respiratory Therapist and a specialist in neonatal and pediatric care. As Co-chair of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Unit, he plays a crucial role in ensuring academic programs align with the university's mission. He is dedicated to maintaining excellence in education, research, and community service while guiding the college towards achieving necessary accreditations. Dr. Aljohani's clinical expertise, combined with his academic leadership and research focus on patient recovery, make him an invaluable asset to the college and the broader healthcare community.

Research Interests / Collaborations

Dr. Hassan Aljohani’s research focuses on improving outcomes for critically ill patients. Specifically, his work centers on optimizing post-intensive care recovery and advancing our understanding of respiratory mechanics during mechanical ventilation. Dr. Aljohani's research interests encompass rehabilitating critically ill patients, elevating their quality of life post-ICU discharge, and exploring innovative strategies to facilitate weaning from mechanical ventilation.​
