 Dr. Hassan Y. Aljohani

Assistant Professor
Dr. Hassan Aljohani is an Assistant Professor of Respiratory Therapy at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, KSAU-HS. He obtained his American Board certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care as a registered respiratory therapist and neonatal and pediatric specialist in 2015. In 2019-2020, Dr. Aljohani earned a fellowship in Clinical and Translational science and in 2020-2021; he received a fellowship in global health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). At present, he serves as the Co-chairman of the Quality Assurance and Academic Accreditation Unit at the College of Applied Medical Sciences/ KSAU-HS.
Dr. Aljohani's research interests revolve around rehabilitating critically ill patients in intensive care units and enhancing their quality of life after being discharged from the ICU. Additionally, he is keen on investigating respiratory mechanics during mechanical ventilation support and exploring strategies for weaning patients off mechanical ventilation.
