 Dr. Azhar Akhmimi

Teaching Assistant
Dr. Azhar Akhmimi is an accomplished Assistant Professor in the Cardiovascular Technology–Echocardiography Program at the College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. A distinguished alumna of King Saud University, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Radiological Sciences, providing a strong foundation for her academic and professional advancement.

Dr. Akhmimi obtained her Master’s degree in Medical Ultrasound from Imperial College London, where her research made a significant impact by exploring the intricate interaction between left and right ventricular function following out-of-hospital cardiac arrest using advanced two-dimensional speckle-tracking echocardiography.

She later earned her PhD in Cardiovascular Sciences from the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom. Her doctoral research focused on investigating resistant hypertension, emphasizing cardiac microvascular perfusion and mechanics to deepen the understanding of this complex cardiovascular condition.

Dr. Akhmimi’s academic and research achievements reflect her dedication to advancing cardiovascular imaging and contributing to improved patient outcomes through innovation and scientific excellence.
