She conducted a series of human studies about the effect of acute consumption of macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients on appetite and satiety. She was able also to write for publication and present her research outcome at international meetings and conferences. Dr. Al-Mana is a member of various national and international Nutrition Societies and serve as Scientific Reviewer for a number of Scientific Journals.

Dr. Najlaa Al-Mana's primary research areas encompass appetite regulation, nutritional strategies for combating obesity, and metabolic disorders. Her work delves into understanding the interplay between hormones, metabolism, and responses to dietary interventions. For instance, she has conducted human trials examining how the intake of various macronutrients and micronutrients influences the secretion of appetite-controlling peptides.
One significant aspect of Dr. Al-Mana's research revolves around the impact of dietary fiber on appetite regulation and insulin resistance. She explores the role of short-chain fatty acids in the gut and their connection to appetite control. Moreover, her studies have underscored the significance of gut hormones, such as GLP-1, in modulating appetite.
