 Ms. Amna Mira

Teaching Assistant 
Ms. Amna Mira earned her B.Sc. in Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences from Dar Al-Hekma University, Jeddah, KSA in 2016. Ms. Amna was certified as a Speech- Language Pathologist from the Saudi Commissions for Health Specialties after completing her internship at the National Guard hospital in 2017. After becoming a Teaching assistant in 2018, Ms. Mira completed her M.Sc. in Speech- Language Pathology at Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, USA in 2020. Throughout her master’s studies, Ms. Mira expanded her theoretical knowledge and clinical expertise in the assessment and management of people with swallowing and communication difficulties. Two of her main externships during her masters were at Boston Medical Center and Boston Children’s Hospital where she gained fundamental expertise in medical SLP. Ms. Mira is currently a Teaching Assistant in the Department of Speech Therapy and Audiology at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University of Health Sciences. She is also a member of the Alumni Unit and Clinical Affairs at the University. Ms. Mira is also a practicing clinician at the Swallowing and Speech Clinic at the National Guard Hospital. Ms. Mira is eager to provide excellent patient care in medical SLP, to conduct research, and to teach the future generation to better equip the profession of Speech- Language Pathology here in Saudi Arabia.

Research Interests / Collaborations

​Ms. Mira’s areas of interest focus on medical Speech-Language Pathology including Adults and Pediatric dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) assessment and management, Adults voice disorders assessment and management, management of patients with tracheostomy, adults with dementia, post stroke patients’ assessment and management, patients with acquired cognitive disorders, post Cleft and Lip palate repair rehabilitation, post cochlear implantation rehabilitation.
