Biography

Ms. Areej Meny earned her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from University of Salford, Manchester, UK. She also completed her M.S in Occupational Therapy from University of Brighton, UK and Master of Medical Education (MME) from King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences – Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Ms. Areej Meny worked as an Occupational Therapy Senior Specialist in Maternity and Children Hospital in Makkah for 3 years. She is currently Lecturer and Program Director of the Department of Occupational Therapy at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University of Health Sciences- Jeddah.

Teaching different modules, such as medical, pediatric and neuro rehabilitation, of occupational therapy in male and female departments.   A member in the University Student Research Board. 

2015- 2018:

Maternity and Children Hospital: Working as an Occupational Therapist senior with children with autism and their families. Carrying out different standardized and non-standardized assessments for autistic children. Providing education and training sessions for families of children with autism. Member of Pervasive Developmental Disorders Team at Maternity and Children Hospital.   

2010- 2013:

Acute Adult In-Patient Mental Health Setting: Worked as a volunteer (Occupational Therapist) with a variety of mental health conditions at psychiatric wards. Organized and planned different groups activity for service users. Carried out group activities including art, games and grading with service users. Reported service users' progressions to my supervisor at the hospital. 
Occupational Therapy role in developmental disabilities, growth development, as well as the role of family and community in these conditions.
