CON-A Academic Advising and Counseling Unit (AACU):

CON-A Academic Advising and Counseling Unit (AACU) is concerned with all matters related to effectiveness of academic advising and counseling process in order to achieve optimum students' retention, academic performance and personal development of undergraduate nursing students toward achieving professional goals.

Professional Goals of Academic Advising and Counseling Unit:

- Assign each academic advisor to advisee in collaboration with academic affairs.

- Orient the college's academic advisors as well as advisees to college/university policies and procedures related to students and academic process.

- Monitor the academic advising and counseling process.

- Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality of advisee's documents.

- Identify the needs of advisors and advisees throughout the academic advising and counseling process.

- Establish an appropriate referral system for advisees as needed.

- Establish a flagging and tracking system for the advisees with low GPA, low academic progress, high absenteeism rate and social and psychological problems.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of the academic advising and counseling process by using a structure survey.

- Report to CON academic advising and counseling committee.

Acadmic Advising system:

Shawrni is a system for Academic Adviser Counseling Unit aims to facilitate and help the advisors to use their time and efforts effectively throughout the academic advising and counseling process.
