The Community Service Unit is responsible for managing community service-based activities that offer accurate representation of all extra/co-curricular community   service activities being performed by Nursing College faculty, staff, and students. The unit will share ideas and resources for strengthening the institution's commitments to community service initiatives.

Vision
The philosophy of the Community Service Unit (CSU) stems from the philosophy of the University as a whole, and the CON-A in particular. It involves strengthening the role of the community services unit in creating a stimulating environment for preparation and delivery of health awareness programs as well as constant interaction with all segments of the society, especially undeserved areas, in order to raise the level of health awareness in the community.

Mission
The CSU strengthens the interaction and relationship between CON-A and all segments of the community for effective contribution to creating a health-educated community. The CSU will facilitate the dissemination of knowledge and health awareness among populations, using scientific methods and with support of health personnel who are expert in providing health services and awareness for community groups​

Responsibilities:
  • -Coordinate various community services within and outside KSAU-HS and NGHA settings in Alahsa.
  • -Lead community service in collaboration with other governmental, community, and non-profit organizations.
  • -Deliver training services to various stakeholders in the areas of their needs and requests.
  • -Motivate, support and facilitate the faculty, administrative, and students’ engagements in community development activities.
  • -Guide and facilitate organization and documentation of knowledge and innovations generated and developed by each specialty within nursing profession for dissemination and application among different target population.
  • -Organize public talking and seminars on current community health and non-health issues that has national and global concerns​
 
Community Unit Services:
  • -Providing professional advice and health education to the community who request the service.
  • -Establishing partnership with community organizations, institutions, and linkages with stakeholders working for community development
  • -Working directly with government bodies, leaders and community groups to mobilize the community for various interventions
  • -Supporting public and community health and non-health efforts to obtain resource to speak on behalf of the vulnerable and minority populations within the Saudi society.
  • -Promoting membership and active participation in professional associations and voluntary and charity organizations.​​
