The Bachelor of Nursing program is a five-year degree program designed to prepare students for a career in nursing as Registered Nurses. After the completion of the four-year course requirements, students must complete a one-year mandatory internship training.
The first two years of the program are designated as Pre-Nursing (pre-professional program). It is required for all students before proceeding to the professional curriculum. The pre-professional program accumulates to a total of 70 credit hours and provides courses essential for the academic needs of language & sciences.
After successful completion of the Pre-Nursing program, students move to the professional program, where specialized nursing courses are offered. The professional program accumulates to a total of 70 credit hours of the last two years of the students’ coursework requirements. Clinical training is offered as well within the course requirement under direct supervision to improve and advance students' experience.
The last year of the Bachelor of Nursing program is the internship year where 48 weeks of clinical rotations are required to all students. This period of internship training is required by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties/Nursing Board to grant professional registration and licensure to practice. It also gives students a clear insight into clinical experience and knowledge in nursing practice.
