The second semester students will be working with
women before pregnancy and during antenatal period. With supervision, the
students will provide care to pregnant women including both normal and high risk
pregnancy. Students are expected to apply midwifery knowledge and skills in the
area of general hygiene, vital signs, history taking, counseling, health
education, antenatal assessment and care. Students are expected to demonstrate
clinical reasoning and the application of evidence-based midwifery in the care
of well women and women experiencing complexities.
