Biography:
Prof. Jawdat is the Chairman of the Cellular Therapy Services Department, at King Abdullah International Medical Research Center (KAIMRC), which includes the Saudi Stem Cell Donor Registry (SSCDR), Cord Blood Bank, Stem Cell and Cellular Therapy Laboratories. She is certified by the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology D(ABMLI). She is a Senior Research Scientist and a Consultant Clinical Scientist in the field of Immunology.
Prof. Jawdat is a Professor of Immunology in the College of Medicine, and the Deputy Chairperson of the Department of Basic Sciences in the Female Branch of the College of Sciences and Health Profession (COSHP) at King Saud Bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences (KSAU).
Prof. Jawdat is the Vice president of the Arabian Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenomics (ARSHI). She is a member of the World Marrow Donor Association (WMDA) board of directors, and the Chair of Supporting Global Development. In addition, Prof. Jawdat is a WMDA Quality/ Accreditation Experienced Reviewer, and quality standard reviewer and inspector for the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT).
Prof. Jawdat is an active researcher, she has published two book chapters, more than 50 articles in peer reviewed journals, and more than 70 conference abstracts. Her area of research interest is immunology, specifically HLA and transplantation. She is currently engaged in immunotherapy projects and the production of chimeric antigen receptors on T lymphocytes (CAR-T Cell) that target antigens on tumor cells in order to treat cancer.
