Responsibilities

Research Focus

-Pharmacological, and biological evaluation of synthetic cannabinoid ligands using multiple functional assays (G-protein and β-arrestins signaling) and radioligand binding affinity studies at human CB1 and CB2 receptors.

-Investigation of the anti-inflammatory properties of multiple cannabinoids in neurodegenerative diseases in-vitro models by evaluating the M1 and M2 microglia phenotypes, pro and anti-inflammatory cytokines production, and multiple signaling pathway upon cannabinoid drug treatment in murine (C8B4) and human (immortalized SV40 cells) microglial cells.

-Assessment of protein-ligand molecular interactions (at CB1 and CB2 receptors) that produced specific (experimental) pharmacological profile using computational techniques (GPCR homology models, protein-ligands molecular dynamic simulations MD, flexible and induced fit molecular docking, QSAR studies) using Schrödinger software (prime, glide, desmond, Pharmacophore modeling, 3D-QSAR).
