Day1: Regression Analysis

Scope:
Knowledge of statistical modelling is an essential component of data analysis for biostatisticians, epidemiologists, and other health professionals' disciplines. Health sciences profession workers use regression analysis to understand the nature of the association between variables included in their studies simultaneously.
Objectives:
1. To familiarize the participants to the concept of statistical modelling
2. To familiarize the participants to different types of regression models
3. To show the participants how to assess the statistical model
4. To guide the participants how to interpret the regression analysis results generated by the statistical software (SPSS)
Participants are expected to:
· be able to assess the relationship between variables
· differentiate between different types of regression models
· Identify the most suitable regression model for their data
· be able to interpret the regression table generated from SPSS
Day2: Survival Analysis

General Learning Objectives & Desired Results:
1. To identify applications with time to event outcomes.
2. To construct a life table using the actuarial approach.
3. To construct a life table using the Kaplan-Meier approach.
4. To perform and interpret the log rank test.
5. To compute and interpret a hazard ratio.
6. To interpret coefficients in Cox proportional hazards regression analysis.
Participants are expected to:
