​​ The University organized a ceremony to inaugurate the mid-term update of the Strategic Plan 2022–2027, which came with the aim of aligning the plan with national developments and reviewing the qualitative achievements accomplished during the past period. The update focused on highlighting the University’s efforts in several fields, most notably biotechnology and artificial intelligence, in support of its journey toward institutional excellence and leadership in education, research, and healthcare.

His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Bandar Abdulmohsen Al Knawy, affirmed that the continuous evaluation of the University’s achievements represents a cornerstone for ensuring quality and achieving the desired objectives, commending the efforts of the deanships and University staff and the tangible achievements realized during the past period. He also stressed the importance of having a clear strategy that achieves national objectives, particularly in the health fields, emphasizing that the strategic plan is the outcome of integrated future-oriented work that links the University’s administrations, deanships, and colleges to ensure coordination and integration across all aspects of academic and administrative performance.

During the ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Saad Al-Maamari, Vice President of the University for Quality and Development, delivered a speech in which he indicated that the University is moving steadily toward achieving its vision of global leadership, based on an integrated system of quality and strategic planning. He emphasized that the mid-term update of the plan keeps pace with national transformations and the requirements of Saudi Vision 2030, in a manner that enhances performance efficiency and integration among the University’s various sectors.

The ceremony concluded with honoring the graduates of the Leadership Preparation Program launched by the University in January 2025, as part of its initiatives aimed at qualifying academic leaders and empowering national talents. The Program Director, Dr. Doaa Al-Amari, explained that the program focused on developing strategic leadership skills, decision-making, and administrative innovation, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in developing human capabilities. It was also announced during the meeting that preparations are underway to launch the second edition of the program in January 2026, as a continuation of the University’s efforts to build future leaders capable of sustaining the journey of excellence and leadership.
